Bernard Arnauld, le PDG de Louis Vuitton va créer la fondation Louis Vuitton. Cinquième PDG le plus riche du monde en 2010 d’après le magazine Forbes, Bernard Arnauld a choisi l’architecte Franck Gehry pour concevoir la fondation Louis Vuitton dans le jardin d’acclimatation à Paris.
L’architecte né à Toronto le 28 février 1929 a obtenu le Prix Pritzker en architecture en 1989. Il est connu pour son célèbre musée de Guggenheim à Bilbao en Espagne -voir l’article- et l’américan center à Paris Bercy.
Il présente pour la fondation un projet qui lui ressemble : une structure sur plusieurs étages couverte d’une verrière au cœur du jardin d’acclimatation à Paris.
Le bâtiment a une structure en acier, couvert par plusireurs verrières. 90 dalles constituent des niveaux différents, qui accueilleront expositions et évènements temporaires. Soit 18 500 m2 sur R+1.
Le bâtiment a un air de Grand Palais moderne…
La construction du bâtiment commence cette année, les fondation sont en cours.
